What’s better than a delicious, warm, chocolate-filled cookie fresh out of the oven? The answer is…. NOTHING! Guys these chocolate chip cookies are so delicious and they are easy to make. They are thick, gooey, and filled with a ton of chocolate! (YUM!) This is a recipe I make a lot in the winter time, but it’s really a good sweet tooth recipe for all year round. The recipe is fairly simple to follow, and these are always a hit when I make them!

I now have myself dreaming of a warm chocolate chip cookie served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Ok enough dreaming, let’s make this a reality!

Tip: Be sure your butter is room temperature- not softened or melted.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature

  • 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar

  • 6 tablespoons granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 cups chocolate chips (you can choose whichever chocolate chips you prefer, I like semi-sweet and sometimes like to mix white chocolate in too)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with non-stick spray. (I prefer to use parchment paper)

  • In a medium bowl, add the flour, baking soda and salt together.

  • In another large bowl, using an electric mixer(I have this KitchenAid mixer. It’s a splurge but LOVE it) at medium speed, beat together the butter, and sugars until smooth and mixed together well.

  • Add the egg and vanilla and mix on low speed until mixed in.

  • Gradually add the flour mixture and mix in until just incorporated. Do not over mix.

  • Add chocolate chips and stir with a wooden spoon, just until incorporated.

  • Using your hands, roll dough into approximately 1 inch balls and place on cookie sheet. If you like larger/smaller cookies adjust sizing.

  • Bake the cookies until the bottoms and edges are lightly browned and the tops feel firm when lightly touched,

  • Small cookies bake 8-10 minutes

  • Large cookies bake 10-13 minutes.

  • Let the cookies cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer the cookies to a platter to cool completely.

  • Makes  18 -30 cookies depending on size.
