Hi Friends! I hope you all are having an awesome week. I’m ready for the weekend for sure! Just a few more days! Today I want to share with you my healthy baked sweet potato chips recipe. This is a great alternative to regular bagged chips, and these are super easy to make. They are great simply as a snack, or as a side for lunch or dinner!

The biggest obstacle I’ve found with baked sweet potato chips is getting them to cook evenly and crispy before they burn. So here are a few tips for baking preparation:

  • Slice the potato pieces as thinly and uniformly as possible. You’ll want the pieces to be mostly the same size so they will cook at the same time duration. Around 1/8 inch slices are ideal.

  • Soak the potato slices in water for about 30 minutes after cutting.

  • Make sure they are completely dry before coating with oil and spices.

Simple ingredients list:

  1. Sweet Potatoes

  2. Olive Oil

  3. Spices of choice I like to use Salt, Pepper, Rosemary, and Thyme.

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 225 degrees and line baking sheet with tinfoil (spray lightly with non-stick spray).

  2. Wash sweet potatoes and peel if you prefer. I do not peel the skin off of mine.

  3. Slice Sweet Potatoes as thinly as you can- about 1/8 inch. Try your best to make them all close to the same size as possible. They will cook better this way.

  4. Toss sweet potato slices in 1-2 tbsp of olive oil (gauge amount on how many potatoes you used). You want them all to be just lightly coated. I would recommend starting with only a tiny bit of oil and adding as needed.

  5. Add in spices of choice and toss around to coat all of the pieces evenly.

  6. Lay potato slices in a single layer on the baking sheet.

  7. Bake for 1 to 1½ hours, until the chips are crispy, rotating halfway through. Allow the chips to rest for 5 minutes before eating.
