A Cheery Summer Living Room

I was so excited when I started styling this living room look for you. I used the color yellow, which I’ve never really decorated with, and much to my surprise I absolutely LOVE IT. It brings so much happiness and cheery-ness into our living room, and I just want it to stay all summer long. Yellow stands for freshness, happiness, positivity, clarity, energy, optimism, enlightenment, remembrance, intellect, honor, loyalty, and joy. I want every single one of those emotions basking in my living room this summer!

It was actually very simple to incorporate yellow around here. I used mostly glass jars/vases and added some greenery. I also dropped in a few hints of a coral color and blues. I found the yellow pillows at Walmart and used them as my base for decorating. I paired them with faux lemon stems and a faux little lemon tree. Another great idea for incorporating lemon yellow for summer is a clear glass bowl of fresh lemons. I am going to pick some of those up from the grocery store today to add to my kitchen counter!

I am looking forward to spreading a little bit more yellow around my home for the summer! I may even take it out to the patio as well! Such a bright, fun, happy color- and I want our summer around here to be just that!
