We have been making these ground turkey meatballs for years! We created the recipe as a healthier alternative to regular meatballs. It’s a super easy and quick dinner to throw together! We usually make them once a week because they are so good! Definitely a staple around here!
Ingredients
*Makes about 10 meatballs
1lb Ground Turkey
2 TBSP Minced Garlic
1/4 chopped white onion
1/2 cup oats (quick cooking) or you can use 1/4 cup of bread crumbs instead
1 large egg
1/2 cup of shredded cheese. We like Mozzarella, but it’s really your choice here. Italian blend would be good too.
Seasonings to taste: Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic salt. Get creative here.
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, or spray with non-stick spray.
In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients together.
With a wooden spoon, or your hands if you prefer, mix all of the ingredients until well combined together.
Using your hands, roll meatballs into approximately 2-3 inch balls and place on baking sheet.
For extra seasoning, you can apply seasonings to the top of the meatballs before putting them in the oven.
Bake the meatballs approximately 30 mins, or until they are a golden brown color.
Do not overbake! You don’t want them to be dry.
Dish Ideas
Baked meatballs with cheese- for an extra cheesy dish, you can top the meatballs with marinara sauce and cheese and bake them in a baking pan (instead of a baking sheet).
Meatball subs/sandwiches- Justin likes to slice the meatballs and add pizza sauce and provolone cheese to make a sandwich.
Healthy, easy option- serve the meatballs with a side of marina sauce for dipping, and with steamed vegetables as an easy side.
Spaghetti & Meatballs- of course you can use these to make your traditional spaghetti and meatballs- just add spaghetti noodles and marina sauce.
I hope you all enjoy this recipe as much as we do! Please reach out if you have any questions at all. Happy to help!
