My excitement level is at 1000% because I am just so excited to give you a glimpse into what our living room space looked like before we completely transformed it. If you follow me on IG (https://www.instagram.com/livingsimplybydesign/), you know that our living room has a completely different look now, but what I haven’t shown on IG is what it looked like when we bought our home so I want to show you now! Mainly I hope this can serve as a guide for inspiration on how to place furniture in a similar space, and tips on how I make a house feel like a home.

My vision for the space was always light, bright, airy and open. I wanted a space that felt open and inviting, as well as cozy and comfortable. I personally feel like when decor is too light and bright, it can sometimes feel cold almost. I always want our house to be beautiful, but more than that, I want it to feel like home. So adding in pillows, cozy blankets, baskets, and pretty lamps really helps a ton to cozy up the space and give it that home feel.

I get asked a lot about the paint color I chose for the living room. The color is Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray. I love this color in rooms with a lot of natural light. I think in rooms with less windows, it can pull a little dark. But in our living room, it works perfect!

I tried my best to link everything at the end of this post. We did do a complete renovation to this home, so we got new flooring throughout the whole house too, but again, I really just wanted to show you how I placed our furniture in this space and made it feel like HOME. Let me know if you have any other questions!
