Hi Everyone! I’m so excited to share this little DIY project with you! The idea was sparked from stumbling across the wreath rings in the craft section at Walmart. (LOL) I’m going to blame it on quarantine and my level of boredom. All joking aside, I am very happy with how these turned out! They are SO cute, super easy to make, and very affordable. They are perfect for a simple clean look for a blank wall. Tag me in your photos on IG @livingsimplybydesign (www.instagram.com/livingsimplybydesign) when you make them! I can’t wait to see your DIY wreaths!

I found all of the materials in my local Walmart craft section. I linked similar items that I found at Walmart online, but I’m sure you could find the same stuff in your Walmart craft section if you wanted to check! The wreath rings were under $3, and the Eucalyptus stems at my local Walmart are $3 each, and the Lavender stems were $2-$3 (I don’t remember exactly).

What you’ll need:

(I found all of these materials at Walmart)

2 Faux Eucalyptus Stems

2 Faux Lavender Stems

1 Pack of Wreath Wrings

A hot glue gun

Wire cutters

How-To:

  1. Cut the leaves off of the stems using the wire cutters and set into two piles (1 pile of Eucalyptus and 1 pile of Lavender). It is completely up to you how many leaves you choose to glue on each wreath ring. You can make it as full or as dainty as you prefer. I did a more dainty look because I already have a few full wreaths around my home, so I wanted a more simple look for these.

  2. Warm up your hot glue gun. I found through trial and error that putting the hot glue directly on the wreath ring and then placing the leaf on it that way worked best. When I tried to put the hot glue on the leaf first, it did not stick as well.

  3. Place a bead of hot glue on the wreath ring an then stick your first leaf onto the bead of hot glue. There is no particular order of operations for which leaves go first. I personally stuck my lavender on first, and then my eucalyptus last. Continue this step until all of your desired leaves are glued onto one half of the ring.

  4. That’s it! It’s really that easy. I will leave some additional tips below that I discovered through basic trial and error while making the wreaths.

Tips:

  • Let the leaves dry fully onto the wreath frame before laying it on a table or hard surface. The half of the ring I was gluing leaves to, I had it hanging off the table so it wasn’t touching anything or laying on anything while I was gluing stuff on.

  • The eucalyptus leaves stuck better when glued to the frame and to the lavender leaves.

This really was a super simple project! These wreaths would also be a really cute touch to a little girls room! You could even switch out the lavender stems for something else maybe with a pink color depending on the room theme. Heck, maybe I will use these in Elizabeths room! Or make new ones for her room! Happy DIY-ing, my friends! Don’t forget to tag me in your pics so that I can see your creations! XOXO
